Take the tradition of the Mr.SD pageant, add a new gym, some teachers, and a ton of talent, and what do you get?  A night to remember.

2013’s “The Bachelor” was an entertaining display, with junior Andre Geoldjian, senior Angus Chang, and history teacher Bryan Wierzchucki crowned as Mr. SD.

The addition of faculty members made this year’s show notably amusing. Everything from Assistant Principle Jack Nance riding a unicycle to teacher Steve Beck boogying on stage had the crowd laughing in their seats.

San Dimas newbie, teacher Bryan Wierzchucki, displayed his “poetry” skills with a few hilariously mocking verses that ridiculed his opponents and sucked-up to the judges.

“I enjoyed watching our teachers outside of the classroom doing things they wouldn’t normally do. It was a fun twist to Mr.SD this year,” commented junior Aleksy Fernandez.

But the students were not to be overlooked.

Musical talents were shared throughout the show. Senior Jeremy Gria played the piano, junior Chino Barrios passionately sang, and senior Wade Lewis exposed his surprising and gifted rapping skills.

Gria’s piano skills earned him the “People’s Choice” award at the end of the night.

”I really enjoyed it,” said Gria. “I was surprised people voted for me.”

Some unique talents had the audience entertained, like junior Jonah Phipps, who executed a fencing duel with a friend on stage.

But it was Chang who had the audience in awe as he performed several unbelievable magic tricks.
