With the end of January approaching, Winter Formal follows close behind; however, many students at San Dimas High School are concerned that it may be the last Winter Formal.
Thus far, approximately eighty tickets to the upcoming dance have been sold. This is around the normal amount for the winter dance, seeing as it is more of a dance for the lower classmen at SDHS.
Although, it has come to many student’s attention that if not enough tickets are sold, Winter Formal could be excluded from the 2013-2014 school year. However, this is not entirely true.
“We’re still debating about it, but I would personally not want to get rid of it,” Lisa Mendolia, the Associated Study Body advisor, said.
Winter Formal acts as a fundraiser for prom. Without this dance, sophomores would not have money for a down payment for prom.
“It eliminates one event for the underclassmen. If we did not have this dance, then they would have to do a lot of extra fundraising,” Mendolia said.
Winter Formal will take place at the Glendora Country Club on February 2, 2013.
