Throughout the year, San Dimas High School has been experiencing many changes, but in October auditions were held for the expansion of the new dance team, Cypher, with the new Dance Advisor, Flavia Rynkiewicz.

“I love being on the team, the girls are so nice and the coach is awesome and I love all the dances we learned so far,” senior Kirsten Johnson said.

Nine girls were added to the team with five of them being a part of the team that performs in rallies. One girl is a part of the team that performs at competitions, one is an understudy for the rally division, and two girls being able to train with the team.

“I wanted to give more students the opportunity to dance and receive the training that they might have not otherwise been able to receive if they were not on the team,” Rynkiewicz said.

There are now more dancers and the space is filled up at rallies, which brings more school spirit to the school.

The girls work hard at practices to put together routines to perform at rallies, renaissances, and special school occasions.

The Varsity team will perform at a couple competitions during the spring and hopefully go on to Nationals later in the year.

They will put on a dance show, along with the rally division, at the end of the year on April 26 and 27 to showcase their talents and routines that they have put together throughout the year.

“I love the expansion of the new team. All the girls are very talented and nice,” junior Kassidy Cuccia-Aguirre said.
