About The Halo
Welcome to the Web site for The Halo, the student forum publication of San Dimas High School. At this site you will find a variety of news and human-interest stories written and edited by the students of the journalism class at San Dimas High School. As a member of the National Scholastic Press Association, we strive to honor the finest tradition of journalistic standards by serving as an impartial marketplace of ideas for the campus community.
In 1896, New York Times Publisher Adolph S. Ochs dedicated his paper to a laudable goal: “to give the news impartially, without fear or favor, regardless of party, sect, or interests involved.” The Halo staff affirms the same goal, with the realization that not all of our readers will agree with all of our stories. Such is the price to be paid for preserving the ideals of the First Amendment.
The Halo staff seeks regularly to bring you well-written stories that will help you keep current with what is happening on our campus. As with any professional news publication, if you would like to join the conversation, we encourage you to write a letter or send us an e-mail with your input.
